  • North is the Glacier, the end of civilization, where normal humans can't live.
  • East is Narfell, now a land of steppes and horse nomads, as willing to trade as to kill you. Used to be a large prosperous kingdom until it destroyed itself in war against another nation.
  • South has the only road to civilization, and leads to Impiltur, a nation of city states with traders and merchants, where most trade to and from Damara goes through.
  • South-East there is the Forest of Rawlinswood, part of the Great Vale. Mostly known for being guarded by a large sect of druids that prefers to keep to themselves and deals harshly with anyone that harms their forest.

History

Recent History

In 1348 Zhengyi the Witch-King, a Lich, invaded Damara and starting a war that would last for almost 12 years. With an army of Goblinoids, Orcs, Giants, Undead, Demons, Bandits and skilled Assassins.

In 1357 the Witch-King managed through deceit to kill the King Virdin of Damara, thus collapsing the government, and the nations ceased to function as a kingdom and became a bunch of city-states.

The Witch-King forced these under his rule, let them operate independently but paying heavy taxes, making life hard in Damara.

In 1359 a group of adventurers is hired to look into trouble in the area by one of the Barons, and they stumble across a plot to summon Orcus, by thwarting this they angered the Witch-King, which attacked, and after a long battle they managed to destroy the Lich, and the leader of the Adventurers Gareth Dragonsbane (LG, Paladin, Illmater) is crowned king of Damara in the same year.

Current day (1372), Damara is still trying to build itself up to its former glory. And the King is trying to encourage adventurers to come and hunt monsters, secure mining operations, and otherwise help stabilize the land.
